U-Lace founder Tim Talley was looking for an idea for an exciting, creative and innovative product. When he discovered a pair of Pumas laced in 6 different colours in a shop window in Harajuku, Tokyo (a really cool place) he was inspired. He loved how the laces transformed the trainers. But the laces were standard 45” string laces. There was a lot of lace and not much room for feet.
Tim decided to create sleeker laces in cool colours and patterns that could lace sneakers and turn them into easy-on / easy-off slip-ons. And so YOU-Lace, shortened to U-Lace, was born. Made as a solution to the problem of shoelaces constantly coming untiled and having to tie and re-tie laces again and again, these non-tie laces are your paint and your trainers the canvas. And you? You’re the artist. So get creating.
